I think IELTS test is the one of standardized test which can measure English language skills. IELTS can measure four English language skills effectively because there are four sections of the assessment. Each section has a clear and appropriate test format. For example, IELTS test measures by using examiners to interview the test-takers in the speaking test or using the recording to measures the listening skills of test-takers.

I do not believe that standardized tests are something that measures a student’s capabilities and skills. Also, I do not believe it is something that should be used to measure a students’ potential for college. What I believe that what measures a student’s intellect and skills are their high school GPA and grades.
