When I was 14 (maybe, I cannot remember when exactly), I have donated 500 baht to Wat Pa Ban Taad during Laung Ta Maha Bua funeral. That was a large amount of money for a 14 child. I thought that I wanted to help him to develop our nation and pay the nation dept. I was so proud of myself at that time. My mom told me that I am brave and generous to give the whole money to someone you didn't know.
