Why do humans fear ghosts?

Since you have never in reality seen a ghost, all you have heard is the horror story about ghosts. You probably have listened to ghost stories since you were a kid, it reinforces itself in your mind as you grow up. Also, more than 99% of the ghost stories always portray ghosts as a negative character. By the time you reach teenage and are able to think logically a few steps ahead in real scenarios, you start to question the authenticity of those horror stories you have heard. This makes the subject of the authenticity of ghosts unknown to you, you fear that those stories about ghosts might, after all, be true. And this goes on for a long time.

I think that people fear for ghost since we all are brought up with Buddhism and Hindu senses.
We are fostered that life after death is real and when we die our spirits will face the consequences from our actions when we are alive.
Here is the point, we know that some people that are dead unnaturally will be bad spirits and irritate humankind.
By the way, ghosts are not that scary!

It depends on human cultures and beliefs that make them fear of ghost.
It is related to fear of the dark that make human imagine many fearful things.
That's the reason why they fear of ghost.

Personally, I think people don't fear ghost but they fear everything that cannot see or prove. Ghost is the best example for them that human cannot prove. Since I was young, I was lied that if I cried , the ghost will swallow you. I think this is one reason that made me and other people fear the ghost.

I think because of many movies or many stories presented about the ghosts that can do a lot of thing such as killing people. Personally, I feel scared of ghosts because I never seen them and I imagine about when the ghosts appear, they will appear with a very scary face sometimes with a lot of red blood, look like in the movies. When I watch scary movie, I don't like to watch the part of ghosts show their face with a lot of blood.

In my opinion, we fear the ghost because we have taught that ghost is a bad thing. Apart from that, ghost has been portrayed as a scary and negative character to make children fear to do bad things. So, the elder makes ghost story which cannot prove to make children do a good things. If they do a bad thing, they believed that the ghost is coming to them.

As I have seen and heard of ghosts story. They present them in scary ways. Moreover, Those stories relate to the common belief among many cultures and religions. This belief gives many people that ghosts is bad. they hurt, kill, or eat humans. It makes sense why people are afraid of them including me.

I think because we cannot see them, maybe? Well, someone might see they ever seen a ghost.
but not everyone can see it though. furthermore, science explains that it just an energy.
So it is very mystery though. that's why people fear what they cannot explain.

I think ghosts are represented in scary things. For example, ghosts have the supernatural power to create good things or bad things. As you know, many traditions have to please the ghost. If the ghost are happy, they will create good things but if they are not, human's will receive bad result such as disease or die. That's why humans are afaird of the ghosts because of the belief that they have powers to create good or bad things.

I think because of our imagination. For example, I imaged the ghosts to something that is so scary. Because some of the movies present the ghosts that harm humans. And when I was young my parents told me that if I don't go to bed, the ghost will come and take me to somewhere. lol

In my opinion, the reasons that humans afraid of ghost are:
- we saw the scary appearance of it from the movie, reality or when we were young.
- we heard from the olders or people that it will endanger or frighten us.
These are two reasons that I think they cuase the humans to be scared of ghost.
