In my opinion, I agree with a teacher and students should make rules together like in William Glasser theory because creating rules in the classroom is built for students to follow. If students have the opportunity to create rules themselves, it will make students more aware of that rule. During the time that they are creating rules, they already have realized that what they should do and what they should not do.

If a teacher creates rules himself/herself, I think the rules will be not fair to students aswell.

I think students must be given a chance to make the rules in the classroom through a democratic form! The students should have the rights to vote for or come up with the essential rules or even the way of assessment in the classrooms. To have done as I said, the students might become willing or eager to obey the rules; the teachers don't need to tell them so much! If there are some problems arising, the teachers can warn them that you must follow your own initiated rules! If not, who would be those obeying your rules instead of you yourselves?

Yes, teacher is the one who controls the classroom but isn't it better if students have their rights to create their own rules? When students do things that against to the rules in the classroom that they created themselves, it's the best time for them to realize for what they have done!

This is so interesting question. In my opinion, I extrapolate the student maybe prefer to be the part of the ruler in the classroom much more than be the follower. And It could be better if the teacher gives them an opportunity to make a decision about rules in their own class. Moreover, this can improve their discipline to follow the rule they've made. In short, I think the rules that students have participated to make it must be better than the rules that they don't have any participation.

Personally, I prefer teacher and students to help each other to create the rules. Most of the time, students usually obey the rules which rule by themselves. They maybe feel more comfortable with their own rules. Moreover, the students will feel embarrassed when they try to break the rule because it is the rules that were created by the teacher and themselves. So, I strongly believe that good rules should be ruled by both teacher and students.

This question interest me to apply this topic. In my point of view, both teacher and students should create the rules together. Students will know exactly rules which they create by themselves so that they can follow the rules easily. By the way, the rule should base on the real way to do. I would say the rules can control students to do in the class. Teacher have to concern the rules which students offer for you as well. By doing this, we can control students in the classroom easily.

In my opinion, I think rules in classroom should be created by students. It is better than teachers create the rules and force students to follow their rules. When students get opportunity to create their own rules they will accept and absolutely obey it. For example, in a camp that I was a staff, we let students to create the rules. It was a great idea and outcome was good. I think they should have rights to choose and vote what they want. By the way, the rules should be appropriate and acceptable.

There are many theories and perpectives which support those two ideals. I love and respect every method or means which is actually democratic. Most of school rules in Thailand are created by only teachers and you can see their consequences; many students try to break the rules. This results from the idea that teachers or administrators don't want to have students create the rules. In other word, this is none of their businesses. So, I agree with the idea of William Glasser. Students must have rights to draft and create both classroom rules and school rules. This will make their consent to the rules.

In my opinion, it depends on the class level which you will teach. If you teach the primary students, it will work. Because the students will enjoy being part of this. On the other hand, if you teach high-level students, it will be harder to control them. Because some students will need to create the rules which only useful for them.

I have learnt that the way that teachers and students set how the classroom will function is a good way to make student-centered teaching style.
