I think differences among students are caused by variety of students' aptitudes, a number of students' learning styles and their learning strategies, affective factors - personality characteristics, attitudes, and emotional responses, and motivation for learning! As a result, we as teachers need to know these kinds of factors so that we can effectively design our classroom activities appropriate to the students' needs!
