What terrified you as a child?

When I was young, I always scared of darkness and things that you cannot see like ghosts or supernatural spirits because sometimes when I was sleeping in my room at night I will hear noises that I cannot understand. Looking back at that time, I feel like I'm an idiot. I'm not scared of that kind of stuff anymore.
